Who we are

Akora is the digital platform of the Akora team — a global community of independent Ringana partners. When this policy says "we", "us" or "Akora", it means the team operating this platform.

What information we collect

We collect the information you give us directly when you register and use Akora, including:

• Identity: name, email address, country, language and your Ringana partner number.
• Account data: password (encrypted), authentication tokens and session metadata.
• Payment data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
• Activity: pages you visit, actions you take and content you create within Akora.
• Optional content: profile photo, event preferences and dietary requirements you choose to share.

How we use your information

We use your data to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Provide the platform's features (training, events, productivity tools, community).
• Process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Send service emails (account, tickets, invoices).
• Send team communications when you have opted in.
• Improve Akora and prevent abuse.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data based on:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the services you sign up for.
• Your consent — for non-essential cookies and optional communications.
• Legitimate interest — to keep the platform secure and improve it.
• Legal obligation — for accounting, tax and other applicable legal duties.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with trusted providers that help us run Akora, including:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• AI providers — to power assistive features inside the platform.

These providers act as data processors and are bound by data protection agreements.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for full details on the categories used and how to manage them.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. After you close your account we keep certain records (such as billing and tax data) for up to 6 years to meet our legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

The details a visitor leaves in the contact form on a partner's personal page (name, email, phone and message) are kept for a maximum of 24 months and then deleted. They are also deleted if the partner closes their account.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data (right to be forgotten).
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw your consent at any time.

International transfers

Akora operates internationally and some of our providers are based outside your country. When we transfer personal data outside the EEA we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved safeguards to protect it.

Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, secure password storage, access controls and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure, so please keep your password confidential and let us know about any suspicious activity.

Minors

Akora is not intended for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you through the platform or by email before they take effect.
